Deborah Hermans

“My aim is to ensure the patient process is as streamlined, efficient and pleasant as possible.”

Deborah has been working with David Duckworth as his Registered Nurse for 18 years. She did her nursing training in Dunedin, New Zealand and worked in NZ and the UK before moving to Australia. During this time she trained as a registered midwife, however has spent the majority of her time in management and patient representative services in major teaching hospitals. This experience has placed her in a great position to work with patients and their families in the acute surgery setting.

Deb’s current role is varied, something that she thrives on. Dr Duckworth’s patients will find her associated with the majority of their care. This includes clinics, hospital bookings, patient education, pre and post surgery care, and research. She is also your contact for pre and post surgery questions and the liaison between Dr Duckworth and yourself. As there is a large focus on research within the practice, Deborah has a large role in this area.

Deb is warm, friendly and professional. Her vast experience enables patients to feel comfortable and confident with their care. She will support you throughout your surgical experience and will be on the end of the phone if you need it. Behind the scenes, her aim is to make patient services as streamlined, efficient and as pleasant as possible.

She works between the Norwest, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Mater clinics and can be contacted on (02) 9806 3333. If she is not available when you call, please leave a message with the staff that answers your call and they will email her so that she can return your call.
